Antonio Aimi

 

Antonio Aimi is an Americanist working on the interpretation of sources (archeological finds and texts) from pre-Colombian cultures, intersecting various disciplines (anthropology, history, literature, aesthetics).
After a first research in ethno-medicine in Peru, he studied the Native American artifacts from the eclectic collections of the XVI-XVII centuries, he curated ethnographical and/or archeological exhibitions, he studied the figurative language of sculptures from proto-Classical cultures of western Mexico and the problems recently posed from the re-thinking of ethnography and/or alternative art museums in Europe.
He has been adjunct professor at the University of Milan since 2003.
